The main components of a shotgun cartridge

The main components of a shotgun cartridge are: puke - seasoning - gunpowder - wood - bullet

Shotgun cartridges

Shotgun cartridges were made of brass in the past, and later it was changed in such a way that the upper part was made of cardboard and the end part (base) was made of brass metal protection in long or short sizes to strengthen the gun. , but now plastic is used in the manufacture of bullets, which are the most used among shotgun cartridges, as the base part is made of brass and the upper part is made of plastic.

Shotgun detonator

The detonator is responsible for igniting the gunpowder in such a way that it is ignited by hitting the end of the gunpowder detonator.

Shotgun powder

After the gunpowder ignites due to the impact of the gun needle on the detonator, the force of the gunpowder explosion causes the bullets to be thrown out of the cartridge. .

Shotgun cartridge

The wad or vase has the task of transferring the force of the explosion resulting from the ignition of the gunpowder towards the bullets, preventing the improper release of the gunpowder gas and absorbing the sudden impact caused by the explosion of the gunpowder and causing a milder force to the bullets. entered and prevents the change of the shape of the pellets, it also prevents the contact of the pellets with the inner surface of the tube, therefore the pellets do not change their shape, in the end, the more round and uniform the pellets are, the better they will fly and scatter. had It should be noted that cartridges are produced in different types, therefore, the more quality cartridges are used in the production of cartridges, the better the shooting quality will be.

Shotgun cartridges

Bullets in shotgun cartridges are usually made of lead, because they have a high specific weight, therefore they have high energy and do not lose their speed very quickly, that is why the use of lead bullets is the most widely used today. It has shotgun cartridges. It should be noted that in recent years and in order to protect the environment from lead contamination (especially in wetlands and fields) which has toxic properties, pellets made of bismuth or tungsten and steel or coated with Nickel is used. Non-lead bullets, because they are harder than lead, are less deformed after firing inside the barrel due to wear with each other or the wall of the gun barrel, and as a result, they create a better distribution (pattern) and instead due to specific weight Being smaller and lighter, they will lose their speed sooner than lead bullets and will have less energy than lead bullets.
