Introduction of air rifle bullets:Bullet material:

Most air rifle bullets are made of lead metal, but due to the prohibition of using lead bullets in some parts of the world, including the United Kingdom, due to the toxic nature of lead, bullets are made of other materials and alloys, such as steel, tungsten compounds and Nickel and iron, a combination of tungsten and polymer, brass, etc. are also made, which usually have higher resistance than lead bullets, and each one has a special application.

High-quality pellets:

A high-quality bullet is a bullet that, according to international standards, has specifications such as appropriate weight, high manufacturing quality, and an aerodynamic appearance or geometry. High-quality bullets are very effective in shooting accuracy, and non-standard and low-quality bullets, in addition to reducing shooting accuracy, also damage the spring and other moving parts of the gun.

The quality of the bullet is measured and determined with a unit called grain, each grain is equal to 0.0647 grams in commercial levels for ease of measurement. Multiply this number by 20 and the weight of 20 balls is used as the basis of measurement.

It should be noted that the minimum acceptable weight for 20 bullets in 4.5 mm caliber bullets is equal to 9 grams and in 5.5 mm caliber bullets is equal to 17 grams.

Types of air rifle bullets and the use of each one:

If we want to categorize bullets, in general, bullets can be divided into 5 main categories.

It should be noted that in addition to this, there are 5 other main types of pellets, which are known as composite pellets, which are made from the combination of two or more types of primary pellets or from the combination of two or more alloys, each of which has a special application. We put them in sub-categories.

1. Flat head shot:

This type of bullet is usually used for target shooting and shooting exercises. Due to its very good flight balance, the head shot has high accuracy in shooting, and for this reason, it is the most used in sports competitions and covered halls where there is no wind. have. These types of bullets are usually suitable for close distances (up to 80 meters) and are not suitable for hunting due to their low penetration and low speed.

2. Sharp bullet:

Due to its geometric shape, this type of bullet creates less resistance with air, and this characteristic causes the bullet to lose less energy and create greater penetrating power and speed in the bullet. The sharp head bullets are suitable for hunting due to the damage and deep injury they cause in hunting and are also used for shooting at close distances.

Because of their low accuracy, sharp bullets usually have better efficiency in medium-powered rifles and cause more deviation in high-powered and magnum rifles.

3. Sacheme Tu Khali or Sargoud:

Sargod bullets have very high penetration and destruction power and are very suitable for shooting at long distances and distant targets, but they have low accuracy and speed. After hitting the target, this type of bullet is flattened and expands inside the animal's body and creates a deep wound in the body of the prey, this feature made this type of bullet ideal for hunting. Sargod pellets are also very suitable for penetrating hard objects such as glass and wood.

4. Magnum or dome bullet:

Magnum bullet is the most widely used bullet in hunting and shooting, and because of its geometric shape, it has high ballistics. It is very idealized.

5. Round balls:

Round bullets are usually used in some gas pistols and automatic and semi-automatic rifles, which have almost low power. These types of bullets have low accuracy and speed and low penetration power and are usually used for shooting at very close distances and because of their uniform appearance and without corners, it makes it easy to insert bullets into the magazine.

Introduction of some commonly used combined bullets:

There are many types of composite pellets that we will briefly introduce some of the most commonly used types
1. Double head combination bullets
2. Combined head-domed pellets (brass)
3. Sartakh-Sartiz combined bullets (two types of polymer head and lead head)
4. Sartakht-Sargoud combined pellets
